# Lessons Learned Scaling to 350+ Units Under Management

And how it led to an acquisition with an industry record multiple.

### The Financial & Operational Playbook M&A Firms Look For

Most operators think growth is all about adding properties. But the truth? Scaling without dialed-in systems just magnifies chaos. Even elite operators struggle with financial accuracy, task visibility, and reporting that owners (and investors) can actually trust.

Top operators do it differently. They’ve built airtight systems that tie tasks to expenses, lock in financials, and deliver hotel-quality hospitality at scale. The result? Owners stay confident, margins expand, and valuations skyrocket.

And the game-changer isn’t guesswork — it’s a repeatable framework that connects product, experience, empowerment, reputation, and scale — the same model that powered StayDuvet into one of Charleston’s most respected operators.

In this workshop, Taylor Gates, CEO of StayDuvet, will break down exactly how he built a platform investors praise as “the best-run financials they’ve ever seen.”

**What you’ll learn:**

- How to tie tasks, expenses, and reporting together to stop revenue leakage before it happens.
- The framework for scaling hospitality without burning out your team.
- The 3 key items M&A firms demand before cutting big checks.
- Why streamlined payouts and locked-in financials are the difference between chaos and confidence.

This isn’t theory — it’s the same system that took StayDuvet from local startup to market leader. You’ll walk away with practical steps to tighten financials, impress owners, and scale with confidence.
